On The Horizon
On The Horizon
A 24 hour event of insightful talks, panels and conversations with some of the most inspiring voices of today on the future of fashion, education, the environment and much more.
On The Horizon is a new, deliberately small event that comprises 24 hours of talks, conversation, walks, swimming, food and wine.
It will focus on ideas that inspire hope and inspiration and in so doing offer ways to improve your life and that of those around you.
Every hour a speaker will give a talk that lasts for around 20 minutes. The rest of that hour will be taken up with questions and conversations.
After that, the conversations may well continue in smaller groups.
There will also be some gently structured break-out groups.
If you want to hang around, there will be dinner, bed, breakfast, lunch and some relaxed music.
There will be a walk or two and you can swim in our lake.
This will be a launch for something that we will slowly grow into bigger events.

Cold Water Wild Swimming Session with Sheena Corry
Cold Water Wild Swimming Session with Sheena Corry
This is a very special session suitable for beginners and seasoned cold water swimmers - each session will bring you a new experience.
Come and experience the magic of the lake on Hawarden Estate, and feel the benefits of cold water therapy. You’ll be guided through the whole experience starting with a walk through the stunning Walled Garden to the lake, where you’ll learn tips and techniques from our Wild Swimming expert, Sheena. She will guide you through the experience, which includes breath work and mindfulness.
Cold water therapy is known for lowering stress and blood pressure. It also boosts your circulation and detoxes your body, as well as giving you a clearer skin complexion. It’s immune boosting too; invigorating and increasing your white blood cell count to help ward off those end of winter illnesses.
Following the session, there will be blankets, hot water bottles and hot drinks around a fire, and some time to reflect on your cold-water therapy.
Wetsuits are available to hire and advisable if this is your first time wild swimming during the winter.
