Hawarden Estate Holidays

We have three extraordinary holiday properties on a beautiful private estate just inside North Wales. There is so much to do on Hawarden Estate that once you’re here you won’t want to go elsewhere.

You’ll have access to rolling parkland, ancient woods, tumbling streams and a lake teeming with wildlife. You can visit our multi-award-winning pub, our Farm Shop that’s been voted the best in Britain or you can eat in our restaurant. You can learn to abseil or forage. You’ll enjoy private saunas, hot tubs and woodland kitchens.

Hawarden Estate is a private Estate in North Wales. Housed within the 3,500 acres of ancient woodland and rural parkland you’ll find a Farm Shop, a Victorian Walled Garden, an 18th-century castle, a private lake and three truly exceptional holiday properties.

Scenic splendour is abundant at Hawarden Estate. At the heart of it all, you’ll find a discerning selection of holiday properties, each offering a unique insight into the Estate’s storied past. Inside though, you’ll discover interiors that speak of nothing but contemporary comfort, with curated artwork collections, luxurious touches and refreshing decor.

The West End is a large three-storey residence housed within an 18th-century castle. Outside, an imposing facade of mullioned windows and weathered stone tells you just how ancient and exceptional this building is. Inside, The West End is a pure distillation of the Hawarden Estate taste.

In ensuring that the transition between their own private home and this unique accommodation feels seamless, the Gladstone family themselves have been meticulous in pursuit of excellence and comfort. The bathrooms are beautiful, the heating plentiful, the kitchen perfect.

Every piece of art, furniture and accoutrement has been chosen with forensic care and passion. Antique furniture rests beneath original artworks by Julian Opie and Damien Hirst. A brand-new, bespoke-built dining table that was made especially for West End this year is decorated with silver that’s been here for 300 years.

This is the place to book for memorable celebrations, joyous milestones and long-anticipated reunions.

Sleeps 4 or 10, depending on the configuration. Dog-friendly.

THE WEST END

GARDENER’S HOUSE

This elegant Georgian home, with its simple but refined garden, has been the home to generations of head gardeners and -indeed- artists.

It has now been completely refurbished to the highest standard, while retaining a strong connection to those gardeners and artists. The house has been filled with great art, superb modern and vintage furniture and at every turn, from the lamps to the kitchen knives, only the best has been chosen.

Sleeps 5 or 9, depending on the configuration. Dog-friendly.

BEEKEEPER’S HUT

Purpose-built for our Victorian Walled Garden, Beekeeper's Hut sits in the midst of glorious greenery. Designed to be a cosy bolthole for two, or a comfortable space for someone staying solo, Beekeeper's has its own covered outdoor area complete with festoons and a choice of indoor and outdoor cooking facilities.

Inside, it is equally as design-led as the rest of our spaces, with a collection of contemporary art, an Everhot stove and beautiful bed linen.

Sleeps up to 2. Dog-friendly.

Add life-affirming experiences

When you stay with us on Hawarden Estate, you’ll also have access to the wide range of events on offer at the Farm Shop, The Walled Garden School and The Glynne Arms.

However, if you're looking to escape the madding crowd, you needn’t worry. It’s entirely likely that you’ll go your entire stay without seeing anyone at all - you can be as involved or as isolated as you wish.
